What should we pray
What should we pray Prayer is an important aspect of our Christian faith. This is probably why there are hundreds - thousands! - In books and articles on the topic of prayer. Many of them address the issue of how to pray without covering what to pray ... what is said in prayer. As a pastor, it is sad to say my prayers that led me from time to time. My lack of imagination makes me pray for the same things and much more ... "Lord ... meet their needs. Draw to you. Forgive them. Open your eyes. Cure. Touch them. " While it is the desire to see God - and this is a good thing - there are moments when I feel most creative and original thinking when the prayer. Here are three things that I "borrowed" from others whose prayers have touched my heart and reached into my soul. Perhaps what will help you helped me. ? Pray the Scriptures. There are many beautiful passages in Scripture that really draw our hearts to God The Psalms, poems and songs, in particular, seem to us the words to make ours. Psalm 100 has always been one of my favorites, perhaps because it is one of the few I have in memory of a child. But Psalm 51 Psalm 37 Psalm 24 and have a lot to me if necessary, and I asked them often. If you look to other passages, the books of Isaiah, Joshua and John come to mind that offers a range of sample prayers. Then there is the famous "Prayer of Jabez" (1 Chronicles 4:9-10) and, of course, Psalm 23 and the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-12), which are classics. ? Pray for a song. There are many wonderful songs that are in fact prayers. Choose your favorite to sing or recite the Lord. But do not overlook the new data. Many contemporary songs offer creative approaches for communion with God. " Bob Carlisle, best known for his hit, "Butterfly Kisses", has recorded several songs that I personally like the prayers many times. His song "Use Me" and "opportunity to take" his first album has more to do with me accepting God's call to full-time ministry as anything else in my life at that time. The texts of these songs became, literally, the cry of my heart. And God heard the cries and called me to serve full time for him. Be careful what you pray for. ? Read the prayer of others. Christian books of poetry often contain prayers. Or you can visit the wonderful sites with prayers and poems to help you about creativity Father. Although I am not a member of the Roman Catholic church, I really liked the idea of praying the Apostles' Creed, as many Catholics do. Then there is always the "Serenity Prayer". You can also visit the following sites for the Google search or ideas for the "sample prayers" for many other options. There are many other options for prayer, including prayers in memory, silence and meditation simple conversation with God while the prayer should not contain words or phrases fiorito only imagination, do not help us to put some thought in our prayers so they do not become simply "probe brass or clanging dishes in the ears of our Lord.
