The New Urban Christian
The New Urban Christian Who are these new Urban Christians? What? S with the afro, long hair, grunge or gangster clothing? Have you gone to a Christian rock concert? You can not tell the difference between this and a Rolling Stones concert? There are long haired youth and young adults, swaying to the music, holding up lighters. Have you been to a Gospel concert? What? S like to see any popular R & B singer? all? s beautiful in their clothes (including the corridors below the diaphragm and guarantees), fur coats are front and center and people drive Hummers, Navigators and Escalade, bling-blinging away. Are they really? Christians? or is this generation of believers simply lost its way? Before too carried away, we must not forget that each new generation of Christians is the bearer of a new flavor, a new style and a new way to worship God Pastor Rick Warren, author of the popular? Purpose Driven Life, "The shepherds of the Church in Khakis and polo (and, for him, who? S dressing). Go to all the great congregation, and has tried to be part sermon, part parody, a video and a lot of contemporary music. This is something wrong? I believe that the answer is no. Ask any teenager or young adults are satisfied with these services, if they know who God is, and they say yes. How, in fact, ask any American if they are believers, and say yes and also (although refuge? Since the inside of a church since elementary school). The question I must ask is whether the Christian message is not out there. The average person wants to have a relationship with God and make you feel knowing God makes a difference in their lives? The answer is always "yes." Are the least? In harmony? of traditional religious beliefs in the past? Answer is also yes. But this is natural in this boom of the information age that we live in more information about different spiritual beliefs, it is natural that someone is in search of Buddhist enlightenment, Zen or mystical practices. And 'this something good? Maybe. One line of thought is that the exploration of spirituality (of any type) will increase a person? S interest in seeking a higher power, which lead them to know God Another line of thought is that the exploration of other religions and spiritual practices to confuse people and lead them to take a Hodge-podge of beliefs and value systems. What do you think? I am glad that people are searching for God, but sometimes takes a different path that I chose. My hope is that when this thing we call time is about to end, all that clear. And we will discover Him who is the heart of all these beliefs. So spiritual and religious, who are these Urban Christians? There are many like you and me. And much like our parents and grandparents. They are people who seek to know God in their own way with their music and in his fashion. So, I accept them. Sing along when you go to church or to participate online. After all, all created in the image and should serve as a link to our another.Sonya C. Triggs is the founder of Urban Ministries Christianz, which can be found on its website to find articles and advice on spirituality, Christianity, self-help, Christian dating and other contemporary issues.
