The Essence of Worship

The Essence of Worship   Faith Fellowship Church? PO Box 1586? Broken Arrow, OK 74013? Pastor Terry Dashner? Essence of worship? There is a difference in the form of worship and the essence? Yes, in fact, many churches today are struggling with the right form of worship. So widespread is the problem that many churches have been classified into two categories of services on Sunday moing. In the form of a service of worship is traditional music. Only song, piano and organ are used, while in others only the music is used. A service is young, not after, strong, and? Rock-and-rollish? Music bursts. In others, and it is guessed. The music is quieter, older, church and books will be on hand, while the words are sung. I would like to speak with you today about the essence of religion. The essence of religion is? E 'vero? Worship in church or the place where God, Jesus predicts the end of the form of worship, when he spoke with the Samaritan woman at the well in John chapter four. You may remember the Scripture? Jesus said to her? Woman, believe me, will be one hour, if not in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father? The time and now is when the true servants will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such people the Father seeks, his servant. God is spirit, and those who must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:21, Nasb, and 23-24). The New Testament reveals a stunning silence about the outward forms of worship and corporate financing a radical intensification of worship as an inner, Godward experience of the heart. The silence on the events is evident in the fact that the collection of church life is not so? Adoration? in the New Testament. Moreover, the main Old Testament word for worship is not practically from the New Testament letter. The use of clusters in the Gospels (26 times) and in the Book of Revelation (21 times). But in the letters of Paul it occurs only once, ie, in I Corinthians 14:25 where the unbeliever falls on the powers of prophecy and confesses God is in the House. Not? T cover all the letters of Peter, James and John. The Old Testament idea, captured in the Greek word proskuneo involves a physical, in awe before the majesty visible. This happened when the people came to see the flesh of Christ in the Gospels. It 'happened in the Revelation as the saints and angels and the elderly were actually in the presence of the visible, risen Christ. But in the age bracket between the ascension and second coming of Christ is not visible here to worship. Therefore, worship is radically intealized and delocalized. In Matthew 15:8-9 Jesus says:? The people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me, I love in vain. Harvest to come from the heart, is not in vain, empty. It is not binding worship.Consider what Paul did not some of the in connection with other words: the Old Testament religion. For example, the next most common word for worship in the Old Testament (after proskuneo) latreup is the word, usually translated? Serve? as in Exodus 23:24,? You do not worship their gods, nor serve them? (Nasb). When Paul used this word for Christian worship, he goes by his way of ensuring that we know is not localized or outward form of worship, but a practice nonlocallized, spiritual experience. In fact, he has so far to treat virtually all spheres of life as worship when lived in the right spirit. Here? S is another example, in Romans 1:9, he says,? I serve [or worship] [God] with my spirit of the Gospel of his son. And in Philippians 3:3, Paul says that true Christians? Adoration? [God], in the spirit of God? And no confidence in the flesh? (Nasb). Then again he says in Romans 12:1, for Christians? I like your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual worship. Paul sees the whole life and as an expression of inner experience that are ... worship. To of faith. Worship the Lord with everything in you, always and everywhere. Pastor T.
