The Kuzari Test 3 million witnesses can be wrong

The Kuzari Test 3 million witnesses can be wrong The Kuzari Test - 3 million of witnesses may be mistaken Kuzari The test is a famous test of the validity of Judaism and is commonly used in outreach programs to convince the Jews abroad to retu to the top of the observance. (1) was originally developed by 11th century poet Yehuda Halevi as a response to the loss of its monopoly on Judaism monotheism. It was designed specifically to demonstrate that Jews had a unique gift theological: the direct and public revelation of God to all the ancient Israelites in the bush. Sinai. (2) In recent years, the 'evidence' was offered as proof of many things. The most common are attempts to prove the existence of God, his revelation to the ancient Israelites in the Sinai, the author of the Torah, and the consequent inerrancy of the Torah. My purpose is not to argue for or against the veracity of any of the above mentioned requests, but rather to show Kuzari why the test is not proof of either. In the search for truth entails the sacrifice of plausible options. My hope is that the place of direct evidence Kuzari secular and observant, and to move closer to the truth. The Kuzari 'evidence' was delivered in various forms and incaations, but the substance is as follows: 1) 3 million Jews saw the revelation of God at Sinai. (3) 2) After the testimony of generation, a generation has told the story to the next, which leads the current generation, to witness the induction of this event. 3) It 'impossible to falsify a public event and its subsequent inter-generational transmission (with inferred acceptance), as described in steps 1 and 2, so the original event must have happened. It seems that common sense of the events with many witnesses can not be false. But history has taught us that many, who have invoked the "common sense" have been frustrated by how rare, in fact, a sense that is. Needless to say, found many problems with this "evidence". I will take each in sequential order. First, I address the "3 million Jews saw the revelation" claim. In his logic, one can not assume what you are trying to prove. One can not assume that the Torah is infallible, to prove that he is infallible. The figure of 3 million euros (600,000 male adults or to be precise) comes from the Torah. (4) You can not use this to below 3 million to prove that he had witnessed an event that follows the Torah infallible. To do so is to build a tautology test, or set the terms ... validation of a self-declaration. The statement "if it rains, it's raining" is syntactically valid but semantically sense, since it is a tautology. The proof of the inerrancy of the Torah can not be done through the use of statements that require the Torah to be infallible. In short, we do not know, a claim of the Torah, which had 3 million witnesses in the Sinai, so that the test will fall. Then you look at the "witness of God's revelation at Sinai" the first part of the declaration. As I remember my days in Hebrew school, the voice of God at Sinai was so powerful that it could "tear the soul from his body." I remember the descriptions of smoke and fire similar to the poor of the DeMille classic Technicolor animation that represents it. (5) Joan Rivers now has a voice in my mind that can rip the soul from my body, because, as she screams and squawks about the stars' Oscar fashion. I have no particular hurry to adore Joan Rivers, and Cecil B. DeMille. What I want is that comedically able to produce special effects for less these days, from Industrial Light and Magic and the good people over at Lucasfilm God is revealed only to me. A simple answer would be "but it is not considered that the special effects and fantastic stories to be true today." Tell that to people who suffer from panic and mass hysteria in the radio broadcast of Welles' "War of the Worlds" in 1938. (6) In summary, we can build here, to claim 1, 3 million have witnessed witnesses tried to say something is buing with fear and spoke with a strong voice. If I were to say a sticky Kuzari of UFO sightings, which can start applications other explanations for what could explain this phenomenon: why not here? (7) Now we look at statement 2, in particular the part that says, starting with the witness of creation, we have an unbroken chain of transmission. The "after witnessing the generation is the key. He said that it is impossible to obtain a generation (a large group of people) to accept anything as a precise account of history is not known which one is telling the story accurately. However, when you get a sticky Kuzari to test the Israelites' slavery in Egypt, quickly answered: "The Egyptians did not record their defeats. (8) So hang on a second here, suggesting that non-published a history of the Egyptians and the more than 3 million Egyptians said it was accepted as true, despite the fact that he knew was false? (9) It can cause a multitude of accepting a false story or not? What is it? The answer can not be, if we have a good conversation, whether in the case of the Egyptians and not Israelites. Moreover, it can not be the answer that the Egyptians were embarrassed by the defeat and, therefore, to accept the story is false, because we can not know if the Israelites were not embarrassed by some historical event, and thus were motivated to accept a new version history only divine revelation. Remember, we can not take the Torah as an accurate account of history to show that the Torah is an accurate account of history. Keep our eye on the ball, it is not the issue here is whether or not they were slaves in Egypt, nor is the question of what the true history of the period. The problem is that you can not at once argue that you can and can not cause a large number of people in a false history. Kuzari test and the test Kuzari discussions are full of these types of applications of asymmetric exposure of logic. You can not suck and blow in the same exposure of the tube at the same time. Next we tu to statement 3, the incorruptibility inerrancy and transmission of this revelation. Note: This assertion is in fact a summary of points 1 and 2, when the real issue remains Kuzari. Many people have accused the Torah suffering from 'broken telephone' transmission. Orthodox have correctly argued that the evidence, archaeological or otherwise, which the Torah was done maybe 2 or 3 points at most, during the transmission. Parentheses, for the customer and keep only observed in a asymmetrical logic exposure, a gold star to you. Correctly noted that all of a sudden archeology is acceptable proof that the Torah has not changed through the generations, however, archeology is not acceptable as proof that the Israelites in Egypt had not. If the Torah has not changed over the centuries, is a statement which I accepted because of the archaeological evidence, the question is why people do not accept the Torah as history, as the ancient Israelites felt when its content (describe the revelation of Sinai) is not known to be true? In typical rabbinical style, let me answer a question with a question: Why do people who accepted the gospel as gospel, if you do not accept that they knew that Jesus was miraculously fed the multitudes with loaves and fishes, as the Gospels describe? (10) "After the people saw the miracle that Jesus did, he started saying: 'Surely this is the prophet who will come to the world." (John 6:14) (11) The problem There is another question skewed logic explanatory. If you can not subvert a broadcast of a miraculous event, and then Kuzari members be tested, by definition, accept the fact that Jesus fed the multitude of miracles. To be clear, I am not saying if Jesus fed the crowd or not, I do not prove or disprove a revelation of Sinai, are simply saying that the evidence of widespread cultural acceptance of an event as a miracle, can not be tested for Judaism, as the antithesis to Jewish and Christian miracles at the same time. In summary, we see that Kuzari the test is not a test because of fundamental flaws in logic. The two basic assumptions that defects that are trying to be tested and used for the asymmetrical exposure of the logic of the argument of convenience. Kuzari evidence is an attempt to prove the divine revelation at Sinai, which in tu is a coerstone of the Jewish faith. (12) For the Orthodox appear angry with the decline of Judaism, the message is clear: The rest of us accept what you have to say, when you provide convincing evidence. Kuzari evidence is not convincing and the burden of proof is on you.
